Sample essay on the Causes and Effects of Global Warming

We all know that global warming refers to the change in climate which is caused by the increase in the average temperature. The tragedy is that this disastrous effect is caused by natural events and human activities which are continuously contributing to global warming. However, it is important to be aware of its causes and effects to be able to eradicate it to some extent.

Causes

Let’s first dig into the causes of global warming.Greenhouse gases are one of the natural causes of global warming. These gases are basically the combination of sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide which cause to trap the solar rays to keep them from escaping. It results in an increase in average temperature. Volcanic eruptions also cause to increase the effects of global warming on this earth. Since a single volcanic eruption tends to release the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, it further ends up increasing the temperature of the earth by trapping the solar radiations in the earth permanently.

Methane is also a natural cause of global warming which is a greenhouse gas as well. It causes to trap the heat in the atmosphere almost 20 times more than the carbon dioxide does. The sources of methane gas are numerous i.e. natural gas, landfill, coal mining, industrial waste process, mobile explosion, and petroleum systems. The industrial revolution is one of the major reasons for global warming. It is caused by human influence as they use a lot of different things involved in fossil fuel. The use of mobile phones by human beings is quite a common example. The whole process of manufacturing involves the usage of fossil fuel which causes to release the carbon dioxide in the air.

Mining is another issue which causes to trap the methane below the surface of the earth. Deforestation is another major human influence on global warming. The decrease in the number of plants and trees for the other use and purposes of human beings ends up causing the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Effects

Now let’s look at the effects or end results of global warming. The melting of ice caps is one of the major effects of global warming which causes to raise the sea level. It can affect a lot of low lying areas in this world.

Due to the disastrous changes in climate, a lot of species of animals and birds are going out of existence. The increase in the hurricane is also another deadly effect of global warming. It causes to destroy the houses which involve the billions of dollars, time, and energy of people and government.

Different contagious diseases are becoming common because of the negative changes in the weather. Therefore, it is important to move forward as an individual and implement solutions to get rid of global warming. Since we are aware of the causes and effects, we need to be involved in activities like recycling, planting, and reducing our contribution to greenhouse gases.
