Essay on my city Agra
Agra is one of the famous cities in India where I live. It is located in Uttar Pradesh and is only 206 kilometers away from the capital of the state. It is such a beautiful city where anyone would love to live. There are many historical elements associated with Agra like Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra Fort, and so many others. It is also known as “Taj City” or “Akbarabad”.
History & Culture
The history and culture of Agra are very rich as it all started from the Mughal family. It was undoubtedly a golden age for Agra as it went under a lot of constructions at that time. The famous garden Aram Bagh came into being which means “Garden of Relaxation” in English. Babar, the founder of the Mughal Dynasty, and his grandson Akbar did a lot of work to make this city flourished. After independence, Agra emerged as one of the smartest cities of India. Moreover, people in Agra follow a lot of festivals and traditions like Christmas, Eid, Diwali, Bateshwar Fair, Kailash Fair, Taj Mahotsav, and many others which keeps its culture alive.
Symbol of Love
Agra is such a lovely city which is considered as a symbol of love. Taj Mahal, which is a significant sign of love which Shahjahan showed for Mumtaz, is counted as one of the seven wonders of this world. It attracts a lot of viewers and tourists towards it. Moreover, it is not possible to imitate that the architectural style and magnificence of Taj Mahal till today in this modern world even after all the recent developments of technology.
Climate
The climate of Agra is a little different than other cities. The season of monsoon exists but the rainfalls are not as heavy as they might be in any other city of India. Moreover, the summer season is quite dry and hot while the winter season is mild. So, it is known as one of the hottest city in the country where the temperature can easily go to 46 degrees. The temperature in the summer season varies within the range of 46 degrees to 50 degrees. However, the nights are comparatively cooler where the temperature drops to 30 degrees. The winter season is generally the best time to visit this city as the temperature remains from 6 degrees to 8 degrees.
Schools & Hospitals
There are also many schools, colleges, and universities in Agra which makes it a hub for education. A lot of well-known colleges and universities offer degrees to their students which help them build their career and future. Moreover, there is medical college as well which is attached to Sarojini Naidu Hospital. And there is also an engineering college in Dayal Bagh. You may find many reputable hospitals there easily which ensure health security and safety of the people. Long story short, I love my city Agra so much that if I had given with another life, I would still choose this place to live.
