Sample Essay on Fashion
Fashion particularly refers to lifestyle, clothing, footwear, hairstyle, and other accessories. People nowadays are so obsessed with fashion that they invest most of their time and money in following the trends daily. There are different kinds of fashion which keep popping up as a new trend now and then. The fashion industry itself has become quite popular and doesn’t cease to evolve with the passing time.
Youngsters particularly girls are considered to be more inclined towards fashion. They judge each other based on the latest trends they can follow. A few years ago, fashion used to exist only in the background of the lives of human beings but now it plays a key role in defining the personalities, characters, and attributes of a person. It has become important to follow the latest trends to be able to survive in this modern world. If anyone is not able to meet the requirements of the fashion industry, he looks like the odd one out.
Students are being equally affected by fashion and trends in a lot more ways than you can imagine. It is good to keep yourself updated to not feel left out among other groups but the obsession with fashion has taken a toll over the study lives of students as well. Those days are far gone when parents used to keep their kids away from the fashion world. The new world today has caused to put all of the attention of both parents and their kids in fashion. Parents themselves are the ones who encourage their kids to follow trends to look cool, presentable, and smart enough.
As a whole, society has become a place where everyone is busy showing off materialistic things to each other. The more you have to show off, the more you are considered to be acceptable by society. This norm is flawed as it has taken away the true essence of nature and purity. People, who used to meet each other to spend quality time, make the meetup plans now just to prove how they are superior to others because of the amazing fashionable dress they are wearing or the luxurious trendy lifestyle they have. That is where personal freedom is being misused as it is going to harm the society even more in the long run.
Media has the great power to show the things to the world the way it wants to. The tragedy is that it also has a long-lasting influence on the people. The way media is showing the fashion industry to the world has made them think that they can’t survive if they try to be different or don’t jump on the bandwagon. The minds of people have been caged through media to make them think they need fashion to live a successful life.
To sum up, fashion itself isn’t a bad thing but it depends upon the individual how seriously he takes it. Once you are clear about your moral values and priorities in life, there is nothing, not even fashion, which can harm your growth in any way.
