It is a two-mile horse race in which the winner gets the huge money price for just his 3 minutes of work. From all over the world, different trainers, horses, and jockeys come to take part in this race. You will also get to see different English, Japanese, Irish, French representatives.
Everything from the restaurants and cafés to the departmental store and shops gets aspired by it. Even government announces a public day holiday on Melbourne Cup event to give a chance to people to enjoy this event to its fullest. All of the bars in Australia get a boom since everyone across the country leaves the offices and come in the bars to pick a winner. Different betting games are played, and Australia loses about $100 million each year on bets as no one knows what is going to happen.
